SASSA has confirmed the following May 2026 payment dates. Old age pension pays on 5 May 2026, disability on 6 May 2026, and children's grants on 7 May 2026. Your money stays in your account - no need to collect on the exact payment day.

SRD R370 Payment Date - May 2026

SRD R370 (Social Relief of Distress, also called SC19) is paid in batches between 24 May 2026 and 30 May 2026 on business days. Unlike pension and disability grants, SRD does not have a single fixed date - each person's date depends on their application batch. After your batch is processed, funds reflect within 2-3 business days.

When Does SASSA Pay?

SASSA pays grants over the first working days of each month in a fixed order: old age pension (Older Persons Grant) pays first, disability grant second, and children's grants (child support, foster care, care dependency) on the third payment day. This is why the three dates in the table above fall on consecutive working days. SRD R370 follows a separate schedule in the last week of the month.

If a public holiday falls in the payment window, SASSA shifts all dates forward to the next business day - the confirmed May 2026 dates above already account for any such adjustments.

Where to Collect Your May 2026 SASSA Grant

You do not have to collect on the exact payment date. Your funds stay in your account until you withdraw them. Going a day or two after payment day avoids the longest queues.

ATM
Any ATM with your SASSA Gold Card. Non-Postbank ATMs charge a fee.
Retailers
Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers. Usually the fastest option on payment day.
Post Office
Bring Gold Card and ID. Busiest on payment day - go the next day.
Allpay / Pension Points
Community halls and shopping centres. Ask your local SASSA office for the nearest point.

What If My Grant Did Not Arrive?

1Check the exact date in the table above - public holidays shift all dates forward, and the dates above already reflect any adjustments.
2Allow 1-2 business days for your bank to process after the listed date.
3Make sure your SASSA Gold Card or bank account is active and not expired or blocked.
4SRD R370: your exact date may differ from others - check your status here and allow 2-3 business days after your batch date.
5Still no payment after 3 business days? Call SASSA free: 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest SASSA office.

Allpay Dates for May 2026

If you searched for “Allpay dates”, the May 2026 dates are in the table above. “Allpay” was a company that distributed SASSA grants until 2013 - the name stuck as everyday shorthand for SASSA payment day, particularly among older grant recipients. The community cash pay points that used to be called “Allpay points” were officially closed by SASSA in 2024.

Today, grants are paid via your Postbank card and can be collected at any ATM, Post Office, or retailer (Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers). There are no dedicated Allpay pay points any more - see the collection options above for where to collect your May 2026 grant.
