How water outages work in SA
Most suburb-level water cuts in South Africa aren't planned - they happen when a reservoir upstream drops below operating level, usually during peak demand or after a main burst. The tap still works, then it doesn't, then it does, for a few hours. Our pages show which reservoirs are struggling now so you know whether to fill containers.
